We have no inside information. We have a website about a number, which makes us exactly as qualified as anyone.
Prediction 1: nothing replaces it (most likely)
67 stops being funny and keeps being said. It joins "lol" and "OK" as words that once were jokes. The next viral thing is not a number at all: a sound, a face, a dance. Number memes are rare, and the next one may be years away.
Prediction 2: a number from a song (likely)
The 67 formula, repeated: a rapper names a street or a date, the hook is short, a sports coincidence lines it up with an athlete. It will not be planned. It will look obvious in hindsight.
Prediction 3: a date (possible)
A specific day that the internet decides to celebrate for no reason, like 67 weekend but permanent. Candidates: any month-day pair that sounds good shouted.
Prediction 4: 41 rises from the dead (unlikely)
It has been declared dead, which historically is the moment a meme becomes ironic, which is the moment it works. We give it five percent. Its fans give it more.
Prediction 5: a letter (long shot)
Numbers have had their turn. A single letter, shouted, with a gesture. It sounds absurd, and so did a number two years ago.
What we hope for
That it stays meaningless. The best thing about 67 was that it could not be sold, explained or used against anyone. Whatever comes next, we hope it is just as useless.
What we will do
Keep the games running, keep the counter counting, and add the next number when it arrives, next to the old one. The crown stays on 67 until the kids take it off.
In the meantime: play. Six seven.
