67 in Brazil: Seis Sete on Every Court
How 67 landed in Brazil, became seis sete, and turned into a football-crowd chant that has nothing to do with basketball.

Brazil got 67 through basketball, translated it, and then did what Brazil does with everything: turned it into a football thing.
Seis sete
Portuguese for six seven. Brazilian creators remade the meme with the local words early, so "seis sete" is what you hear on the street. The rhythm is nearly identical to the English, and the gesture is untouched.
From courts to stadiums
Brazilian football scores never reach 67, so fans moved the meme to the clock and to shirt numbers. The 67th minute of any match is now a moment: whole sections doing the hands at the stadium screen. Any player wearing 6 or 7 gets it when they touch the ball. A defender wearing 67 (rare, but it has happened) is a walking chant.
Funk and the sound
Brazilian funk producers remixed the hook within weeks, and the funk version is the one most Brazilian teenagers know. It is faster, louder and built for a dance. The gesture became a dance step, which is the most Brazilian outcome possible.
Schools
The page-67 problem, in Portuguese. Brazilian teachers reported one extra hazard: "seis" and "sete" appear in the grading scale, so a test marked 6.7 causes a scene. Some teachers now write 6,7 in words to avoid it. It does not help.
The leaderboard
Brazil is a permanent top-five country on the 67 Tap counter and the one most likely to organise a surge. Brazilian Twitter, when it decides to do something, does it all at once. The counter has felt it more than once.
The Brazilian 67
On a beach court in Rio, at sunset, a kid makes a shot, the scoreboard (there is no scoreboard, everyone just knows) says 67, and the whole beach does the hands. We have not seen this happen. We are confident it has.
